Osborn Maledon P.A. announces new associate
William Furnish, an experienced litigator who has practiced in the area of commercial, securities, and intellectual property disputes, is joining the Phoenix law firm, Osborn Maledon, P.A. He is an associate in the firm’s litigation practice, focusing on complex commercial litigation and professional responsibility. He has represented clients in both state and federal court, arbitration, mediation, and administrative proceedings.
Prior to joining Osborn Maledon, he was a litigation and trial associate with Latham & Watkins LLP’s New York office. In this role, he advised and represented Big Four accounting firms, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and other institutional clients in connection with securities, professional liability, intellectual property, and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Latham & Watkins, he served as a judicial law clerk to Justice Andrew Hurwitz of the Arizona Supreme Court and Judge Carolyn Dineen King of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Furnish’s practice also has incorporated significant pro bono work, including representing asylum seekers, directing a legal clinic for homeless youth and representing veterans seeking disability benefits. Before law school, he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Republic of Armenia, where he taught first through 10th grade English, directed a school renovation project and trained other English teachers.
A graduate of Dartmouth College, he received his law degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law.
